15 Farmers at the Farmers Market


15 Farmers were lined up on the North Side and around the front of the Cannon County Courthouse Saturday, July 25th. A hugh display of Fresh Farm Produce was available; several different varieties of tomatoes, corn, squash and potatoes. There was cabbage, eggplant, okra, pole and bush beans, sweet and hot peppers, herbs, field peas and alot more.
Lindsey Parsley had her 'veggie art' displayed; with all the rain we've had lately, she made 'veggie-boats' out of peppers and okra. Be sure to check their table to see her art work.
Remember the produce you will find at the Cannon County Farmers Market is locally grown and farm fresh and available directly from the Farmer.

Market Buzzing with Produce




It was a very busy July 18th Saturday around the Cannon County Courthouse Square. The Square was filled with Farmers with corn, okra, tomatoes, green beans, eggplant, field peas, potatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, herbs, melons and berries and alot more. There were several customers waiting for farmers to set up at 5:30am to purchase Fresh Fresh Locally Grown Sweet Corn; "nothing better than getting it fresh straight from the farmer" said one customer.



Miss Lindsey Parsley displayed some of her 'Veggie Art', the cucumber sports car fitted in well with the Car Show that was on the other side of the Courthouse Square.

The Courthouse Square is the place to be on Saturday mornings. Come early for best selection of produce, there are new Farmers arriving each week with their bounty. If you haven't received a Cannon County Farmers Market tote bag with your purchase be sure to get one before supply runs out.

Cannon County Farmers Market is where you can meet the farmer and know you are getting Locally Grown, Farm Fresh Food.

Enjoying Market Day


WOW, what a beautiful day Saturday at the Cannon County Farmers Market around the Courthouse Square. The weather was great; not too hot and a calm breeze kept customers and Farmers and 'Veggies' comfortable.
Ms. Betty Pate made several purchases and had her sacks full of produce from several of the Farmers. Greg and Lisa Rogers and Ms. Nancy Pucket in background were visiting before making some more purchases.
If you have not made it to the Market yet, do so. You will find some of the freshest produce available and all locally grown by Farmers from Cannon County and Rutherford County. Cannon County Farmers Market is a producer only market, that means you will be getting locally grown produce, some picked that morning or few days before. Visit with the Farmers and ask about their growing methods; there will be Conventional Growers (chemicals used), Sustainable Growers (using Organic Methods, but not licensed) and Certified Naturally Grown Growers (inspected by non-government group and uses Organic Methods).
What's Pickin' at the Market: Corn and Tomatoes are beginning to fill up the market. There was Bodacious, Yellow Sweet, Silver Queen and Peaches & Cream, several varieties of Heirloom and Hybrid Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Okra, Green Beans, Potatoes, Cabbage, Eggplant, Summer Squash, Peppers, Herbs and Flowers and Baked Goods. There were 12 Farmers Saturday with a wide variety of various produce and other items. New Farmers are coming each week. Welcome to the Market: Jana Phillips, Ben Brown and Ben Olson. Congratulation to John and Tish Erdmann of Erdmann Farms in becoming a Certified Naturally Grown Grower this past week.

Explosion of Produce on the 4th of July



4th of July started with an explosion of great looking vegetables and berries at the Cannon County Farmers Market located around the Courthouse Square. Customers arrived early for the best selections and by 8am several Farmers were sold out.

Green Beans, Corn, tomatoes and okra were the first items to disappear quickly, be sure to arrive early for the best selections!

With the much needed rain the County received, there will sure to be more produce arriving to the Farmers Market next week. Corn, tomatoes, okra, cucumbers, summer squash, eggplant, cabbage, peppers and green beans and much more.

Cannon County Farmers Market is on the Courthouse House Square every Saturday morning from 6am to 10am or until produce runs out.
